Traditional men’s clothing in India consists solely of a lungi or dhoti. The traditional Lungi originated in the South and it is simply a short length of material worn around the thighs like a Sarong. Lungi is a rectangle cloth, usually made of cotton, draped around the waist and pleated in the front. Men generally wear lungi along with a kurta. A lungi is always colored (usually a blue plaid design) and on that it is stitched into a circle.
